After packing up almost two months worth of clothes and supplies in one carry one bag and a backpack-- yes, I actually managed (evidence below), I am finally in Athens, Greece! My parents and I left June 20th and it seems the 20th and 21st have just rolled right together. Luckily, Benedryl worked its magic again on the plane ride and I slept almost the entire time, making it easier to start adventuring right upon landing in Greece.
First stop— food! Restaurants line the streets with tables and chairs outside on the marble stone roads with owners trying to entice any walker-bys in. Of course our first meal consisted of a gyro and Greek salad, I mean you have to start off right. It was delicious and what we needed to get started.

Second stop—the Agora, Acropolis and Parthenon…and of course all of the ruins in between. Even though I’ve been to Athens once before and seen these things before, they still amaze me. It’s crazy to think that people moved all that marble up on top of a hill and created such amazing structures AND they did it without any modern technology. It was cool to see again, definitely something you have to do if you’re ever in Greece. On our way back we went to the New Acropolis Museum, which was pretty cool, a lot of the walkway is made of glass so that you can see the ruins excavated beneath.

| Our favorite part of the Acropolis-- the details in the sculptures of the ladies behind us was still so good! |

My Mom and I passed out once we got back to the hotel, but woke up in time to sit on the rooftop patio, listening to a band playing down below and even caught part of the sunset.

Last stop—dinner! Greek food is so amazing, their music… ehh not so much. Amazing first day, can’t wait till tomorrow!
